FAQs

Q1: My child is 2-years-old, is she eligible for Head Start?

A1: Children must be 3-years-old by September 30th to attend Head Start. However, 2-year-olds are eligible for Early Head Start and they will then be placed in Head Start when they turn 3-years-old.

Q2: Will you need to know my income for the application?

A2: Yes, national Head Start guidelines require that income information be collected during the application process.

Q3: Will my child be attending every weekday?

A3: Yes, your child will attend classes Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 1:45 p.m. Nutritious meals will be provided for children during school hours. Please see our Nutrition page for menus and more information.

Q4: Are there any fees for Head Start?

A4: No, all supplies, meals, transportation, and field trips are free.

Q5: When will I know if my child has been accepted into the program?

A5: You will be contacted the first week of August.
