People Incorporated of Virginia is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Youth Workforce Development Specialist. This position is stationed at the Duffield office and will serve Lee and Scott Counties. The Youth Workforce Development Specialist will provide activities and services to assist WIOA participants in obtaining and maintaining employment. The services may include eligibility determination, assessment, job readiness training, tutoring, leadership development, work activities, job search, post employment activities, job development/placement assistance and follow-up. Excellent written/oral communication skills and ability to work independently are required. A Bachelor’s degree in related human service field and two years of experience in counseling and case management, or any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities are required. People Incorporated of Virginia is now accepting applications for the position of Family Advocate for the Child and Family Development program. Position is located at and serves the Abingdon Child Development Center. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive services to families enrolled in the program. Individual will utilize a strengths-based approach in conducting home visits, assessing family needs, supporting families in setting goals for themselves and providing referrals to other programs as appropriate. Qualifications include: Family Development or related credential or an Associate's degree or higher in human services, social work, sociology or related field required, valid driver’s license, excellent driving record, reliable transportation, excellent oral and written communication skills, and experience working with families from various socio-economic backgrounds.
